Summer signing number three, forward Frank Nouble, has spoken to Stockton Town media after sealing to move to the Club.
Upon arrival in Stockton, Frank explains his emotions over putting pen to paper, stating: “I’m really excited to be here, it’s good to have signed early in the summer, giving me good time to prepare, but now I’m just wanting to train and get going as soon as possible to be honest”
He then takes the time to describe the process that brought him to the Anchors: “I’m quite new to the area, so I’ve been doing research about different clubs, Stockton Town is on my doorstep of where I’m living now, and it was actually Fenton John, my teammate at Gateshead, who spoke really well about the club and recommended it here.
“I spoke with the management here and it wasn’t really a hard sell to be honest, the rise through the levels, and the ambition is there.
“This will be the lowest level I’ve played, but it doesn’t phase me, it’s a challenge that I want to be a part of.”
During his time with the Heed, Nouble was part of Rob Elliott’s coaching staff, and speaking on how that has impacted his playing career, he states: “Seeing the other side of the game, looking into the way coaches set up their teams, seeing your position out of your own body has been really eye opening.
“Working with first team players has been a real learning curve, so I hope I can bring some of that experience back on to the pitch here.
Coaching/Managing is something I want to do in the future, so I’m looking forward to learning a few things from Micky [Michael Dunwell] and the staff here as well because the job they’ve done here is nothing short of incredible.
”With that being said, I’m no where near done playing and that’s what I want to showcase here. I’ve got a lot left in me and I’m eager to get as much football as I can in me, and go out there and do well.”
The big target-man then takes the time to explain what the fans can expect to see from him on the pitch: “I give everything I’ve got. I’m physical, I know how to play the position, I can create, I can score and that’s what I’m here to do. I won’t accept anything else really. There’s high demands for myself, and my goals are the exact same as they’ve been throughout my career.
“It was a brilliant season here last year, but I know the aim is to go that one further, so I’m looking forward to showcase to the fans what I can do.”
Finally, Nouble assesses his soon-to-be-strike—partner Josh Scott, and how excited he is to share the pitch with him: “Josh is a player I’ve been watching closely. He did really well last year, I’m looking forward to partnering him. We’re two different players and I think that will work well.
“In the past, whenever I’ve played with someone that’s a bit different to me we’ve always bounced off of each other well, and hopefully I can do the same with him. But I’m looking forward to getting involved and playing with everyone here, if I can play my part in getting the strengths out of the whole squad, we’ll be in for another good year.”
