Stockton Town today announced the signing of experienced forward Frank Nouble following his departure from Spennymoor Town.
Where do we begin… Stockton Town marks the 27th transfer in Nouble’s incredible career, and the 22nd different club in his 17-year professional time in the game.
The now 34-year-old, 6’3” forward began his career at Chelsea, training with the first team before heading off to play first team football in the Premier League at West Ham in 2009 under the leadership of Gianfranco Zola. In East London, he registered 10 Premier League appearances, making his debut in 2009 replacing Carlton Cole in a win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
During his time with the Irons, he had loan spells with West Brom and Swindon Town before scoring his first senior goal with Swansea City, earning credit from the Swans’ then-manager Brendan Rodgers.
Amidst this period, Nouble was a part of England’s youth setup, playing seven times for England’s U19’s and even scoring a brace versus Austria in a 3-2 win.
After leaving West Ham in 2012, the London-born striker bounced around the EFL, notably scoring an iconic goal on his Coventry City debut in 2014 – a match-winner in the Sky Blues’ return to their Ricoh Arena stadium.
After Coventry, Frank made his way to China, signing for Tianjin Songjiang, where his spot was eventually replaced by Brazilian Alexandre Pato after two years in Asia.
Since then, Nouble has been bouncing around the EFL, with some notable moments along the way, two of which coming with Newport County in 2017, scoring a 13-minute hattrick, and eventually winning August’s Player of the Month award for League Two.
More recently, in 2023, Nouble earned hero status at Yeovil Town, scoring 11 league goals to help them secure the National League South title, spending another season with them in the National League before moving up to the North East to join Gateshead.
Now, after a short stint with Spennymoor Town, Frank Nouble becomes an Anchor, where he will add to an already strong strike force, and look to push Stockton Town to the next step.
