Stockton Town’s Play-Off pursuit continues when they host Rushall Olympic in their penultimate home game of the season.

The Anchors slipped out of the Play-Offs on Easter Monday following their 1-0 defeat at Hebburn Town. Gainsborough Trinity regained the spot after they secured a stoppage time win over Guiseley.

It was a frustrating way for the Easter Weekend to end after their 1-0 win over Gainsborough on Good Friday had moved them back up to 5th.

Stephen Thompson will be back in contention to start after he was an unused substitute last time out.

THE OPPOSITION

Rushall Olympic have endured a tough season in Step Three following their relegation from the National League North last season. The Pics were a surprise inclusion in the Northern Premier League when the allocations were made back in May.

Last time out Ian Long’s outfit secured an important win over Ilkeston Town which keeps them two points out of the relegation zone. It was their first triumph since February 10th when they won away at Lancaster City.

Former Wolves and Northern Ireland Youth international Liam McAlinden scored the first and Anthony Dwyer sealed the deal in stoppage time to secure a 2-0 win over their Derbyshire opponents.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

This is only the second-ever meeting between Stockton Town and Rushall Olympic. Their first meeting came back in the reverse fixture.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES

Looking ahead to the game, Michael Dunwell said:

“Rushall are fighting to stay in the league, so it’s going to be a really tough game again. We played well at home on Friday (v Gainsborough) and hopefully we can get another big crowd and put in another good performance to get three points which is what we need.”
