Stockton Town FC Community Foundation is seeking an inspirational Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and support our mission to use football as a force for good in our community.
As Chair, you will provide strategic leadership and ensure strong, effective governance across our charity. Working closely with trustees and senior staff, you will guide the Foundation’s long‑term direction, support its growth, and help maximise the positive impact we make across Stockton and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and guide the Board of Trustees, ensuring effective governance and decision‑making
• Shape and support the Foundation’s strategic direction
• Chair Board meetings and foster a collaborative, inclusive environment
• Act as an ambassador for the Foundation with partners, stakeholders, and the community
• Hold trustees and senior staff to account for the delivery of our charitable objectives
• Ensure legal, financial and regulatory responsibilities are met
Who We’re Looking For:
• A passion for football and how it supports community wellbeing
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to build consensus
• Integrity, good judgement and a commitment to our mission and values
• An understanding of charity governance (or willingness to learn)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Time Commitment:
• Attendance at 4–6 trustee meetings per year
• Availability to support the Foundation between meetings
• Willingness to represent the Foundation at events and with key stakeholders
