Introducing: Ryan Barrett

Stockton Town today confirmed the signing of full-back Ryan Barrett on an initial one-month loan deal from Alfreton Town.

The 24-year-old joined the Reds in summer, and has already put in a Man of the Match display, as well as registering some assists in Nottinghamshire.

Welsh-born-Newcastle-raised, Ryan, represented Wales at U17 level whilst in Newcastle United’s academy – playing alongside the likes of Owen Gallacher and Nathan Harker during his decade there, reaching up to U23 level.

The talented right-back then spent time with Inverness Caledonian Thistle after his growth with the Magpies, collecting a handful of appearances in the Scottish Championship that year.

After a short stint with Blyth Spartans in the National League North, Ryan moved all the way down to Cornwall to represent step-three side Mousehole AFC on a full-time basis, where he spent the 2023/24 season and became a fan-favourite before leaving for Alfreton.

Barrett now joins the Anchors ahead of a huge selection of games, starting on Tuesday with a trip to FC United of Manchester. It isn’t until Saturday 29th November when he will get to play in front of the home supporters, when Warrington Rylands come to Teesside.

Welcome to Stockton, Ryan!
