Under 12’s Visit “The Academy of Light”

Stockton Town Under 12’s willingly undertook a visit to Sunderland Academy, “The Academy of Light” on Friday 22nd September, an invitation kindly offered to them by ex Stockton Town Development Officer and friend of the team Paul Midgley.

The boys arrived for the game against the Academy U11 side looking very smart in their new kit supplied by Avec and kindly sponsored by George Hardy Fencing and Decking.

The boys were escorted to a dressing room and then onto a pitch, which as expected, was in lovely condition. The pitch was a pleasure to play on and Stockton did the Club proud with a fantastic performance full of technical ability, desire and energy and ran out deserved 2-1 winners against a spirited and sporting academy side. The boys received glowing praise for both their performance and their attitude from the Sunderland staff and parents.

After the game Midge was kind enough to give the boys and parents a tour of the facilities, which everybody enjoyed.

Everyone connected to our team is most grateful to Paul for offering a most enjoyable visit. The boys all love Midge and they did him and the Club proud. As Harvey Skipper said to him after the game, “I bet you wish you had stayed at Stockton !!”
