Stockton Town u18’s head to Doncaster Rovers’ Eco-Power Stadium on Saturday evening for a cup final clash with Bottesford Town u18’s.
The young Anchors will be looking to complete an incredible double after clinching the league title a couple of weeks ago.
Manager Paddy Davis looks ahead to Saturday’s test by saying: “I’m really excited for the game, it’s a great experience for the boys to go and play at Doncaster Rovers’ Stadium. Obviously, the experience is important but we want to go and win as well. I have massive confidence in the boys to perform.”
Davis’ side booked their place in the final in dramatic fashion, coming from 3-1 down in the second half to win 4-3 over Manchester-based side, AR Elite. Jack Spears scored a brace, with goals from Jaedon Faulkner and Joe Kennedy also securing the comeback, to which he took the time to review by saying: “The boys showed how much resilience and faith in each other they have, which was shown in their come back in the semi-final. They’ve got a strong belief in what we are doing and each other, it’s been a pleasure to see that develop.”
Paddy closes by stating his pride in the season so far, where alongside this cup run, his team won the league title, losing only one game along the way: “I am immensely proud of the boys, not just this season but also those who have been involved over the last two seasons. The way they’ve taken on the messages of myself and the coaching staff, the commitment and enthusiasm they have shown has been brilliant. We are in a real good position I feel with the U18’s side and we have some exciting players coming into join our squad for next season. We have been massively about development with the lads, but we also want to be successful.
“No matter what happens on Saturday in Doncaster and in the National Champions tournament on the 17th of May in Coventry, we have had a fantastic couple of years and hopefully it will benefit the club over the next couple of seasons to have such a committed and talented group of players.”
