U15’s in Durham County Cup Final

Our U15’s have against all odds made the U16 Durham County Cup Final. A tremendous achievement playing a year above yourself.

They face  Herrington CW U16’s this Sunday 23rd April at Durham FA, Riverside, Chester le Street and kick off is 11am.

Stockton Town U15 went into the U16 Durham Cup with the hope of giving a good account of ourselves but with no real expectations of seeing the latter stages.

The first round saw us draw a familiar Side in Spennymoor Town U15’s in the first round. Painter helped himself to a hat trick as well as braces for Ruddock and Waters saw Stockton cruise into round 2.

A trip to Hebburn U16’s was the prize. This was a great cup tie. Ruddock twice put Stockton ahead but a last minute equaliser saw the tie go to penalties. Hall was a hero and denied the first two takers, to allow Cerisier to calmly score the winner.

Cleveland Hall were the quarter final opponents. Possibly the performance of the season from the lads, saw Ruddock open the scoring again before goals from Painter, Davis, Wilson & a second for Ruddock helped Stockton cruise to the semi final.

Leam Rangers visited STFC for the semi final and were the stronger side until Ruddock again opened the scoring. Stockton hung on with resolute defending from French, Littlefair & Hornsby, before super sub Nathan Walls silenced the visitors with the calmest of second half braces.

It would be great to see as many Stockton Town people as possible there to support the boys so if you can make it we’ll see you there.
