Striker Scott Speaks After Workington Win

Anchors Striker Josh Scott provided his review after his two-goal performance on Wednesday evening, in Stockton Town’s 5-0 victory over Workington.

The recent addition has been on red-hot form since his arrival at the club two weeks ago, and made his third consecutive start up front.

Speaking on his start to life as an Anchor, in which the striker has registered four goals and three assists in his opening four games, Josh exclaimed: “It’s been good. A very good start and the lads have welcomed me in massively – it’s all been great fun. We just move on to the next game, another winnable game and we just keep pushing on.”

His four goals have been part of a team that has scored 16 goals in their previous four games, and speaking on that, Josh stated: “We’ve all clicked really well since I’ve come in. We’re all kind of playing off each other, creating chances for each other and we’re all flowing with confidence at the minute.”

Josh also picked up on scoring early, and how that helps the team see out games by saying: “The early goals are massive. It settles us into the game. We’ve scored early on in the last three games, and each game we’re thinking if we can get the first goal, we’ll settle into it and we know we can create more chances and score more goals.”

The striker closed by looking ahead to Saturday afternoon’s test, where Newton Aycliffe visit the MAP Group UK Stadium in Isuzu FA Trophy action by saying: “We’re confident going into it. We’re scoring goals, and importantly keeping clean sheets too. That’s two clean sheets in a row now, and we have just got to go in with confidence, play how we play and I think we can beat anyone on our day.”
