Stockton Town sign Owen Gallacher

Stockton Town are delighted to announce the signing of winger Owen Gallacher.

The former Scottish youth international arrives following his release from Spennymoor Town at the end of last season.

Gallacher, who can operate as left-back as well as on the wing, started in the Newcastle United Youth ranks before joining Nottingham Forest.

During his time with Forest, he had a loan spell at Harrogate Town where he made his senior debut in the FA Trophy.

Since leaving Forest in 2020, he has played in the EFL for Burton Albion, Crawley and Grismby Town. He also had an 11-game loan spell at Gateshead in the National League.

He spent last season with Spennymoor Town.

Speaking on his arrival, Gallacher said:  “I was born in Newcastle so the club is not far from me and it’s a club I have always been aware of.

“The club has amazing support and my close mate Nathan (Harker) signed last year so I followed the club through last seasons promotion. The lads have welcomed me well and I can’t wait to get started.”

On what the fans can expect from him, Gallacher added: “As a player I’d say I like to be direct and link play, use my pace to get in behind and work hard for the team.

“I am very determined and can’t wait to get started.”

On landing Gallacher, Manager Michael Dunwell said: “I am really pleased to finally sign Owen after speaking to him for a number of weeks.

“He has been playing at a higher level all through his career and will add that experience to our squad.

“He had a collar bone injury last season whilst at Spennymoor so is a bit behind fitness wise.

“He will add competition for places and bring more pace, to our frontline. He’s an exciting player who will create and score goals. I am looking forward to working with him.”

Welcome to Stockton Town, Owen!
