Stockton Town progress in FA Youth Cup

Stockton Town booked their place in the FA Youth Cup Second Qualifying Round with victory at Carlisle City.

Goals from Tom Birtles, Tyrone Dhliwayo, Tommy Hood and Jack Williams handed the young Anchors a 4-1 win at Carlisle City.

Birtles along with Aidan Angus had been promoted to the side from the Under-16s.

Reacting to the win, Manager Joe Lillie said: “It was great to get the win last night the lads showed their quality.

“Seeing both Tom Birtles and Aiden Angus from our 16’s getting an opportunity to play in the FA Youth Cup.

“Then Tom scoring our opening goal from 25 yards that just topped it off.”

Lillie added: “Two weeks ago Josh Stiff signed from our 18’s to the 1st Team and now our 16’s get a chance with us.

“That’s what it’s about”

Stockton Town will be hoping to go one better in the FA Youth Cup this year after exiting at the Second Qualifying Round last season.
