Stockton Town were held to a third successive goalless draw against Pontefract Collieries. Â
It was special day as Captain Adam Nicholson lined up for his 500th appearance for the club.
It was a huge game as Pontefract were nine points behind league leaders Stockton but with a game in hand ahead of kick off.
Stockton almost had the lead within ten minutes when Kev Hayes found space behind and he tried to find Michael Fowler but the ball was cut out.
Minutes later Lloyd Allinson was called into action when Hayes drilled a shot at him.
Just before half time an opening appeared for Stockton when Hayes was played in but his shot was fired into the sidenetting.
Early in the second half Pontefract had the ball but it was ruled out for a foul on Harker.
The game needed something to bring it to life and it almost had that when Stephen Thompson tried an ambitious shot towards goal which dropped just wide.
The biggest opportunity for either team fell for Pontefract when a close range effort from Adam Haw was excellently saved by Harker.
In the end neither team could find the winner and Stockton were held to another goalless draw.
