Michael Fowler returned to the scoresheet as Stockton Town picked up three points at Sheffield.Â
Fowler was involved in both goals as he scored the opener and won the penalty which Kev Hayes dispatched.
Manager Michael Dunwell named an unchanged XI from the side that beat Winterton Rangers last Saturday.
Stockton started with intent and had the first opportunity within the opening two minutes when Mikey Roberts headed over from Glen Butterworth’s cross.
They wouldn’t need to wait long for the opener. Fowler showed tremendous persistence to keep the ball in play before he profited when Kev Hayes low cross was parried out to him by Jordan Pierrepoint.
Mikey Roberts then had an effort on goal when he drove forward and fired over.
Hayes tried his luck as his cross-shot just evaded Fowler who slid in.
Stockton managed to remain ahead at half time thanks to a goal-saving block from Adam Nicholson. He hurled his body in the line of fire when he chance presented itself to Beatson inside the box.

Shortly after half time another presentable fell the way of Sheffield but Luke Magham could only hit his shot straight at Callum Roberts.
Kev Hayes had a couple of big opportunities to increase the Anchors lead. First he struck wide when he was played through one-on-one. He then hit the base of the post after he typically cut inside and curled a strike on goal.
Nicholson was then denied as his header on goal was blocked on the line by Sam Greenhouse.
Stockton continued to hammer on the door for a second but Pierrepoint was sharp to deny a low strike from Butterworth.
Pierrepoint wasn’t so sharp minutes later when he gave away penalty after he brought down Fowler. Hayes stepped up and converted to seal three points for the Anchors.
