Pontefract Colleries FC v Stockton Town FC
Stockton Town slumped to defeat at Pontefract Collieries.
Pontefract opened the scoring through Adam Haw.
He later turned provider for Louie Chorlton who sealed the points.
The game came just a week after the two sides had met in the FA Trophy. The Anchors ran out 3-1 winners on that occasion.
Manager Michael Dunwell named just one change from the side last Saturday. Michael Sweet came in for the suspended Michael Fowler.
Stockton had their one chance of the first half when Adam Nicholson headed wide from a Cam Painter corner.
Pontefract then had their first opportunity when Haw headed over from a corner.
Just past the quarter mark Haw gave the home side the lead when he pounced on rebound after Callum Roberts had saved well from a Jack Boyle effort.
Boyle felt ambitious when he forced Roberts into a save from a long range freekick.
Roberts was again called into action when he kept out a cross-shot from Frankie Sinfield.
Half-Time: Pontefract Collieries 1-0 Stockton Town
After a quiet second half, the Colls doubled their lead in the final 15 minutes when Haw found substitute Chorlton who tucked home after his initial shot hit the post.
In the final exchanges, Adam Nicholson was brought forward to try to salvage something. Unfortunately nothing dropped his way.
Full-Time: Pontefract Collieries 2-0 Stockton Town
