Louie Hall scored his first goal for Stockton Town as they won at Cleethorpes Town.

Hall’s goal was the second for the Anchors after Stephen Thompson had given them the lead in the first half.

Hall was one of the three changes made to Michael Dunwell’s starting XI as he came in to replace Tom Coulthard. Elliott Beddow came in up front in place of Matty Tymon and Liam Cooke replaced the injured Mikey Roberts.

The game started in even fashion, the hosts had the first chance when an Alex Flett corner led to a scramble in the box.

The Anchors then tested out the reflexes of former Grimsby Town goalkeeper James Mckeown by forcing him into a one-handed save.

On the half hour mark, Stockton took the lead when Thompson took the ball from the centre circle and lofted the ball over McKeown.

In the 50th minute, Paul Walker headed over from a corner for Cleethorpes. He was in the action again moments later when he made a clearance off the line.

Stockton added a crucial second when Hall nipped in at the near post to head in a left-wing cross for his first goal for the club.

Henry Popple secured the second clean sheet of his loan spell when he made a fingertip save from Dan Gallimore’s curling effort.

The Anchors are back in action next Saturday when they make the trip to Play-Off chasers, Dunston UTS.
