We travelled to Easington expecting a tough game against a team that is expected to challenge for the Wearside League Title this Season and with neither side having dropped any points this Season. Stockton started the game brightly and forced a couple of early saves from the Easington goalkeeper. Easington were looking lively on the counterattack but the Stockton back line of Arthur, Dowd, Crossman, Nicholson and Coulthard were dealing with everything comfortably, while at the other end Kallum Hannah and Chris Stockton looked a real threat. It was no surprise when Stockton went in front after 25 minutes when Adam Nicholson won a header in the box from a corner and the ball fell to Kallum Hannah, who turned sharply and poked home from close range. Half time the score was 1 0 to Stockton but they had lost Carlton McCabe to injury before the half time whistle. The second half continued as a midfield battle with Stockton having the better chances but Easington dangerous on the break. A fine save by Michael Arthur on 60 minutes saw Stockton keep their lead and then substitute Tony Johnson came off the bench to put Stockton 2 to the good on 67 minutes. Shortly after with Easington pressing to get back into the game they struck Stockton’s post but the ball was cleared. The next goal in this game was starting to become important as Easington pressed on but it was Kallum Hannah and Stockton that got it in the 9oth minute to seal a fine victory.
