Kallums hat trick eased Stockton into the Semi Finals of the Shipowners Cup
Kallums hat trick eased Stockton into the Semi Finals of the Shipowners Cup

This Shipowners Cup Tie was expected to be a close encounter between two of the better sides in the Wearside League. An earlier League fixture in the Season had finished 5 1 to Stockton but Seaton did not deserve the margin of defeat on the day.
The game started with Seaton forcing the early pace with a number of crosses into the box none of which caused the Stockton defence any problems. Stockton were hitting Seaton on the break and looking dangerous and it was no surprise when they went into the lead. A good move by Stockton saw a Tony Johnson shot parried into a wide area where Kallum Hannah picked up the ball after beating the Seaton keeper to the ball and scored from an acute angle, on 13 minutes. Seaton were struggling to cope with the pace of Stockton’s game and Stockton doubled their lead on 19 minutes when Tony Johnson bundled home from close range. Two minutes later and the game was effectively finished when Tony Johnson broke into the left channel, cut into the box, onto his right foot and finished into the far corner for 3 0. On the stroke of half time Kallum Hannah grabbed his second of the game to send Stockton into the break 4 0 up.
Stockton continued to dominate the game in the second half and Kallum Hannah completed his hat trick from the penalty spot on 59 minutes. Carlton McCabe was next onto the score sheet when some fine one touch passing saw him burst into the box and finish right footed past the keeper.
A great result for Stockton in a Cup they have never won.
