Stockton Town begin their Durham Challenge Cup campaign by welcoming a young Gateshead squad.
Gateshead’s first team have an FA Cup replay, making it unlikely any first-teamers will feature in the game.
Gateshead’s youngsters, however, could consist of a large amount of the squad that progressed into the First Round of the FA Youth Cup last week, and might also feature Callum Bone – who was on loan with the Anchors earlier in the season.
The Anchors will look to finally go one better in their quest for the Durham Challenge Cup this time around, following last year’s final disappointment against Shildon against Bishop Auckland.
The two sides met in this competition back in 2023, when Mikey Roberts bagged a hat-trick en-route to a 4-0 victory for the Anchors.
With this being the only game for 11 days for Stockton, Michael Dunwell addressed the fixture, stating: “We’ll change things around, give players more minutes and bring some of the 18’s into it.”
