It’s a swift turnaround for the Anchors when they make the trip up the A19 to face Hebburn Town.
On Saturday, Michael Dunwell’s men secured their Play-Off place following a draw with Morpeth Town.
Stockton fell behind through Nic Bollado’s headed opener but hauled themselves level when Stephen Thompson netted.
Both sides pushed for a winner in an open contest. Lewis King came close in the dying embers with a header which drifted narrowly wide.
It is expected there will be changes to line-up from Saturday with the game coming so quickly after.
THE OPPOSITION
Hebburn Town currently reside one place above the relegation zone following a wretched run of form to end the campaign.
Fortunately for the Hornets, the gap is five points ahead of Matlock Town with only six to play for but they still require the points to make absolutely sure.
On Saturday they suffered their latest defeat as they went down 3-1 at Gainsborough Trinity. The prolific Declan Howe opened the scoring for Trinity before Michael Turner equalised for Hebburn. However, a second half goal from Fraser Preston and Howe’s second secured the points for the Holy Blues.
Hebburn have the usual culprits which piped the Anchors to the NPL East title almost a year ago. Amar Purewal, brother of our own Arjun, has again finished as the club’s top scorer and has 18 for the season.
Olly Martin, who has often proved to be a thorn in Stockton’s side, has also hit double figures with ten for the season.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES
Looking ahead to the game, JD Briggs said:
“It’s important for both clubs that game because they (Hebburn Town) have dropped to one place above the relegation zone after everyone below them has won. I know they’re having a tough time with unavailability of players and injuries. They’ll be trying everything they have got to pick up some points.”
“For us, we know it is difficult. They piped us to the title last season by a point
and they were excellent with the run they went on.I think we’re better than we were then,
so if we can play to our best then we can get three points.”
