Stockton Town begin their Pre-Season campaign as they make the trip to Consett.

Arjun Purewal, who returns to his former side, while fans will get to see new signing Owen Gallacher for the first time. It is expected Michael Dunwell’s side will feature some trialists in the first outing.

Tomorrow’s game kicks off at the earlier time of 1.30pm to ensure fans will be back for England’s crucial Euro 2024 Quarter-Final against Switzerland.

THE OPPOSITION

Consett were promotion challengers throughout last season until they fell away at the back end of last season. They gave the Anchors a stern test on Easter Monday when a Ben Ramsey brace put them 2-0 up before second half goals from Michael Sweet and Adam Nicholson rescued a point.

Tony Fawcett has been busy in the transfer market so far with six new signings at Belle View. Goalkeeper James Anderson, who had a loan spell at Consett last season, has signed permanently from Morpeth. Marc Costello has arrived following a long spell with Newton Aycliffe. Isaac Walker, Jordan Patterson, Shay Richardson and Adam Lennox have all arrived after playing in the Northern League for Redcar Athletic, Seaham, Whickham and Heaton Stannington. Walker is familiar to Anchors fans having had a loan spell with the club back in 2023.

Defender Ben Milburn has departed for a new challenge at Blyth Spartans.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES

Looking ahead to his sides first Pre-Season outing, Michael Dunwell said:

“Looking forward to the game which will be a mixture of our current players and trialists as well as a couple of our under 18’s.

“We’ve had 4 sessions so far and players have come back in really good shape. We had a practice match amongst ourselves on Wednesday in preparation for the game.

“Obviously it’s only our first game so players will be getting used to the tempo again and finding their feet. But looking forward to playing games again.”
