Stockton Town are in midweek league action when they make the trip to Lancashire to face Bamber Bridge.

The Anchors come into the game on a high following a 3-1 win at Warrington Rylands which was their first away day triumph in the league since their opening day win at Leek Town.

New signing Josh Scott played a starring role as he scored minutes after coming on for his debut and later bagged himself two assists.

Saturday’s win extended Stockton’s winning streak to three matches, which included a 2-0 win over Blyth Spartans in the FA Trophy and a 3-1 win over Crook Town in the Durham Challenge Cup.

THE OPPOSITION

Bamber Bridge have competed in the Northern Premier League Premier Division since their promotion via the Play-Offs in 2018.

Led by Jamie Milligan, who has been in charge since 2019, Brig are currently two places below the Anchors in 15th place.

On Saturday they were on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat at Basford United. They had gone down 2-0 in the first half but clawed it back in the second half to level it with six minutes remaining. However, Basford took the points thanks to Will Squire’s stoppage time own goal.

At home they have only had one victory which was a 4-2 win over Prescot Cables. There were four different goalscorers that night as Michael Potts, Olly Molloy, Lucas Weaver and Billy Hasler-Cregg all bagged.

Weaver stands alone as the club’s top scorer with five- ahead of four players who have all netted twice.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES

Looking ahead to the game, Michael Dunwell said:

“Obviously confident, like you say three wins in a row. Four points from six in the league which is good. You don’t realise how big this win (3-1 at Warrington Rylands) was today.

“The lads are full of confidence going into the game on Tuesday, there might be a couple of changes with how soon it is.

“Hopefully we can go there and get another result similar to Saturday.”
