Josh Scott speaks on Lancaster City win

Match-winner Josh Scott provided his assessment on the Anchors’ 1-0 victory over Lancaster City on Wednesday evening.

Josh was making his first start for the club since he injured his hamstring early in the game against Oldham Athletic in early December, and he opened by expressing his delight on returning to the starting line-up, and managing to find the target:

“It’s brilliant to be back. I hate not being involved so getting back on the pitch, getting a goal, doing my job, it was a good return and I’m buzzing with it. The confidence is still there, I’ve been feeling good in training and the lads have kept me involved which has been really helpful and the confidence levels are high into a good run of games coming up,”

Scott was substituted in the second half, but he assures Anchors fans it wasn’t due to a problem:

“We didn’t want to overload it. Last time I feel like we might’ve rushed it back by playing a full 90 at Worksop. This time I played about 35 minutes against Rochdale, 70 tonight, so I’m just trying to gradually build it back up to a full match soon.”

The forward closed by speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash against Bamber Bridge by saying:

“We did really well against them last time, beating them 5-1 away from home so hopefully we can use that as confidence and do the same at home, putting on a good performance for the fans.”
