Owen Gallacher spoke after his first Stockton Town goal helped the Anchors to a 3-0 win over Worksop Town.
Gallacher opened by stating how the team mentally came into the game: “We were more than up for it. I know Worksop had been on a very good run recently, but so were we. That’s four clean sheets in a row now, so we were up for it and I think we clearly showed that on the pitch, and obviously with the fans behind us here, it’s an extra man for us, and it’s all come together to make a great day.”
The second-half substitute followed by taking us through the delights of scoring his first goal for the club: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be honest. It was a great time to get it, and it was good to get it in front of the new stand as well. It was just a great day to get it as a whole.”
The goal came in the 82nd minute, making the game 2-0, and seeing off a late threat from the visitors, which ‘Gally’ describes by saying: “It just cemented the game for us, and after that we managed to push on and get another one so it closed the game and helped us to the reward that all the lads deserved.”
Owen then took the time to further praise the incredible support at the Map Group UK Stadium for the game: “Like I said before, it’s an extra man for us, and obviously when they’re behind us, we always try our best on the pitch and I think at the moment that is showing with the results we’ve got.”
The left-winger closed by looking ahead to next week’s trip to Prescot Cables, as only four games remain the Anchors in the season: “Everybody is up for it, we’re absolutely flying at the moment and playing good football. We played a three at the back last week, four at the back this week, we’re changing formations but we’ve been solid in all of them and again it’s another clean sheet.”
