Cam Painter reaches his century for Anchors

Anchors midfielder Cam Painter marked his 100th appearance for the club in today’s win over Mickleover.

Painter, who was signed in Summer 2022, played another huge part as Stockton Town produced an excellent first half display which propelled them past Mickleover.

“It’s been a long time coming, I have been looking out for it for a while,” Painter said.

“To finally get to 100 I am absolutely delighted because I love playing here and under this management so I am very happy.”

“The fans are the best in the league’s we have been and best in the region, so I love playing in front of them,” Painter added.

It was the ideal performance for his century to be marked in. The Anchors were irresistible as they came past a Mickleover that were previously unbeaten on their travels.

Goals from Michael Sweet, Tom Coulthard and Mikey Roberts capped a triumphant return to the MAP Group UK Stadium.

“We were absolutely class. Now we have started scoring goals we are making games look a lot easier,” Painter said.

“Josh (Scott ) has come in and made a big impact and we’re getting what we deserve now.”

Painter will be eyeing his next appearance milestone, and he can make a start on it Wednesday night when Workington are the visitors.

“It should be a tough game as they always are in this league but we’re at home and having a good run, so we should fancy ourselves to pick up three points,” Painter said.
