Stockton Town endured a miserable night as their unbeaten was ended at Newton Aycliffe.
Cole Kiernan’s brace either side of half time put the hosts in command.
Mikey Roberts squandered the chance to get Stockton back into the game when his penalty was saved.
Newton Aycliffe wrapped up the win when Josh Baggs put through his own net.
Stockton Town made three changes to Saturday’s line-up. Lewis King, Michael Sweet and Cam Painter all came into the starting XI for Dan McWilliams, Kev Hayes and Stephen Thompson.
Stockton Town almost made the perfect start to the game but Adam Nicholson’s header was blocked on the line.
It was the home side who opened the scoring when Kiernan tucked home a rebound.
Stockton crafted an opportunity just past 20 minutes when King’s low cross was met by Roberts and his effort was held by James Winter.
Another Stockton came when Glen Butterworth teed up Baggs who struck over the bar.
Stockton then had a penalty appeal turned away after Painter went down in the box.

The Anchors came into the second half with intent as Roberts drove a shot on goal that was comfortable for Winter.
Roberts had another chance as he cut inside and forced another save from Winter.
Newton Aycliffe increased their lead when they quickly broke forward and Kiernan was on hand to produce a deft finish over Harker.
In an attempt to salvage something, Stockton made a triple change with Shane Henry, Stephen Thompson and Elliott Beddow all coming onto the field.
However it was Aycliffe who had the next chance as Toby Pascoe burst into the box but his effort was well held by Harker.
Stockton were then handed a lifeline when Beddow was chopped down by Winter.
After a delay, Roberts stepped up and saw his tame penalty saved by Winter.
That summed up the evening for Stockton.
They then had their misery compounded when cross from Wood was headed into his own net by Baggs.
