Stockton Town Ladies will look to return to winning ways when they make the trip to Gateshead Leam Rangers on Sunday.
The Anchoresses fell to their first league defeat of the season last Sunday when they went down 2-1 at Hebburn Town.
Sunday’s opponents Gateshead Leam Rangers sit towards the wrong of the table with just one win from their first games. Although that single triumph did come against Hebburn Town when they were 4-0 winners on the road.
Looking ahead to the task at hand, Manager Chris Murphy said: “Leam have a good squad albeit a youthful one which will give us a good test.
“They have had a difficult start having lost five of their first seven games, however we will need to be at our best to get a result.”
Despite their defeat last weekend, the Anchoresses are second and six points behind Birtley Town with a game in hand.
“We are looking to put the disappointment of last week’s defeat behind us with a positive performance,” Murphy stated.
“We need to be better in possession and more creative in the final third. We have a good week of training and the girls will be ready.”
Murphy has called up Erin White and Colby Hobson from the U18s and both could be in line to make their First Team debut.
