Anchoresses bounce back with League win

Stockton Town Ladies bounced back from their FA Cup disappointment with a league win at Pools Youth Ladies.

The Anchoresses once again hit the opposition for seven goals- as they did in the league opener at home to Darlington Spraire Ladies.

A first half brace from Talia Korucu put Stockton in control before a hattrick from substitute Emma Rose Farrow and goals from Milly McNamee sealed an emphatic 7-1 win.

Speaking on the win, Manager Chris Murphy heaped praise on his players: “Our 3 in the middle Demi-Leigh (Tapping) , Milly (McNamee) and (Michaela) Garvey were instrumental in how we played.

“Pressing quickly when out of possession however in possession they moved the ball around the pitch quickly and accurately.”

“Kaitlyn (Bell) and Talia’s (Korucu) llink up play in the final third was threatening throughout and got their rewards putting us 2 up going into halftime with Kaitlyn setting up Talia for both goals.”

“Special mention to Emma today who came off the bench to bag herself a hat trick, her first for the club,” Murphy added.

The Anchoresses have a break next Sunday before returning to action on Sunday 13th October with a trip to Horden.
