Teesside Sport and Stockton Town FC offer support for talented thletes through our football academy. The programme develops you holistically as a football player while you study for an academic qualification.

As part of our unique football academy you study across the wide range of academic choices whilst continuing to play and train at a high level gaining access to a variety of benefits.

We are determined to offer any students the opportunity to continue to pursue their footballing aspirations in a high performance environment in both the male and female game. We offer a pathway which enables you to access a dual career pathway, whatever your academic discipline.

Through Stockton Town FC, competing in Step 3 of the national pyramid, overseeing this bespoke football academy the links into football teams across the area are wide and varied seeing multiple players within our academy system already competing in semi professional football on both the mens and womens side

Costs: All costs are covered within your academic course fee, you will pay no additional cost.

Entry Criteria

  • Have an interest in football and contribute positively to football at Teesside University through performance.
  • Be able to demonstrate a track record of success in football.
  • Successively achieve a place on a course during the 2025-26 academic year.

How To Apply

Applications are now open. To apply, you must be either a current student or a Teesside University applicant. Your application won’t be processed until you have received an academic offer from Teesside University. Offers are made subject to you meeting the eligibility criteria enrolling on a course.

You can apply to Teesside University for any ungraduated full time or part time course (home and international students). 

This is a football performance program and as such, you need to demonstrate that you are performing at a high standard and have potential to contribute positively to Teesside Universitys performance on the pitch. You may be invited to trials for assessment.
