Stockton Town took the lead through Marc Stonehouse after a Mcavoy free kick was dropped by the Spenny keeper. The Anchors then conceded after Hassan Yusuph was down injured and Spenny capitalised on the extra man and bent a lovely free kick into the top corner leaving Ross in the Stockton goal no chance.
Stockton started the 2nd half Sharpe and a change in personal and position saw Joe Posthill slide a pass through eye of a needle to see Stonehouse on hand for his 2nd of the game. It was soon 3 as Marcellus Kerr put the burners on and left the Spenny left back deep in the water and dig out a delightful cross which seen Stonehouse glance a header in for him to claim the match ball.
Stockton then let Spenny back in the game after getting undone from a set play.
Stockton then missed a penalty and we all thought it was going to be one those nights, but Arthur Connelly on debut playing up from the U16s at 15 years old had other ideas after good play from Hassan saw Arthur ghost past 2 and unleash a Thunder bolt to seel the points.
4-2 Stockton and worthy winners – opening day win and 3 points on the board so hopefully lots learnt and we will go again Tuesday away to Darlington RA.
