The under 16’s played Tibs looking for a victory to secure promotion to Division One. Early Stockton pressure saw Will Mackie burst down the right wing and crossed in for Jack Lacy who headed just over the bar. The away side kept up the pressure when Charlie Bradley played a long ball up field which was flicked on by Dylon Marshall to Lacy who was denied by the home keeper. The opening goal came when the ball ricocheted around the box until Jack Lacy laid the ball to Will Mackie who hammered the ball home. Stockton were in control and went close once again when Luke Hallatt played a great defence splitting ball for Dylon Marshall to race on to but he fired just wide of the mark. The home side were awarded a free kick but the Stockton defence were up to the task clearing the danger with ease. Tibs had a chance to equalise but Ethan Gage raced back to get in a last ditch tackle to protect the lead. The under 16’s made the home side pay for missed chances when Dylon Marshall robbed the ball in midfield and played in Sam Dawson who raced clear and poked the ball home with the tip of his fluorescent boot. Stockton put themselves in total control when Jack Lacy received the ball on the edge of the box and rifled his shot home off the inside of the post. As half time approached Jack Lacy won the ball in midfield and spotted a Will Mackie run who gathered the ball and slotted home the fourth.
Half Time: Tibs 0-4 Stockton Town
Tibs started the second half at a pace but Jack Massey and Liam Small stood firm, assisted by Will Mackie and Ethan Gage with some strong tackling in midfield. Stockton added to the lead when Sam Dawson and James Mahoney combined down the left with Mahoney crossing for Will Mackie to complete his hat-trick. Stockton went close again when Rhys Berryman went on a run down the left before picking out Jack Massey who was unlucky to see his excellent shot go just wide of the mark. It was against the run of play when a hopeful long ball from Tibs caught out the Stockton defence and was poked home to reduce the defecit. From the kick off the away side went straight down the other end and a Will Mackie shot was turned round the post by the home keeper. The resulting corner was headed on by Rhys Berryman and Dylon Marshall was on hand to scramble the ball home. Stockton were in control and some great work in midfield from Ethan Gage played in Rhys Berryman who raced clear but his shot was bravely blocked by the home keeper. Rhys Berryman was in the thick of the action and once again raced down the left receiving the ball from Jack Harkin and looked to be tripped up but the decision went against him. Stockton went further ahead when Sam Dawson crossed the ball from the right which was flicked on by Ethan Gage finding Rhys Berryman who fired home at the second attempt. The away side were pushing forward at every opportunity but were leaving gaps at the back and Tibs took advantage late on to grab a consolation goal.

The lads have achieved their first aim for the season winning promotion to the first division and now face a huge game next week knowing a win will give them the League title. Well done lads !!
