Back to league action for the under 16’s against tough opponents in Coulby Newham. Early pressure from Stockton saw Rhys Berryman have a great shot blocked and Dylon Marshall went close with a long range effort which was tipped over the bar. The resulting corner was met by Jacob Selby but he headed just over the bar. Coulby had a chance themselves from a corner but Jacob Selby was on hand to head the ball clear and send Stockton straight on the attack. Sam Dawson linked up well with Dylon Marshall but his shot was blocked and Luke Hallatt saw his shot pushed away for another corner. The corner was played into the box where Jacob Selby hammered his shot in top corner to break the deadlock. Stockton won the ball back from the kick off and Will Mackie out paced the full back before pulling the ball back to Luke Hallatt who hit a low ball to the back post where Rhys Berryman was on hand to slot the ball home. Coulby Newham had a chance to reduce the defecit but put the shot wide. Stockton didn’t heed the warning and when Coulby broke free again they made no mistake and grabbed a goal back. Stockton went back on the attack and almost scored when Dylon Marshall sent in a cross but the home keeper managed to nick the ball off Will Mackie’s head. Mackie and Luke Hallatt were linking up well down the right and both went close but were denied by the keeper. Just before the break Coulby had a chance to equalise but Jack Daniel was on hand to clear the ball off the line.

Stockton were straight on the attack in the second period when Dylon Marshall danced past two defenders and crossed the ball to Will Mackie who saw his shot well saved. The away side were controlling the game and good work from Jack Massey played in Will Mackie who returned the favour crossing for Dylon Marshall who had his shot saved once again. Coulby came close to equalising when a shot rattled off the crossbar but Stockton went straight up the other end with Dylon Marshall chipping the ball to Will Mackie who dinked the ball over the advancing keeper. The under 16’s were in control now and a long clearance from Charlie Bradley deflected into the path of Dylon Marshall who hammered the ball home. Stockton were dominating proceedings when Ethan Gage won the ball in the defensive area, he played the ball to Jack Daniel who played the ball out of defence to Dylon Marshall who saw his shot glance off the bar and fall to Will Mackie who unselfishly played it to Rhys Berryman to grab his second of the game. As time was running out it looked like Stockton would have to settle for five but Rhys Berryman linked up with Luke Hallatt to play in Sam Dawson who hammered the ball into the roof of the net.
