Under 8 Durham Division 1
15th February 2015, 12:00pm
Stockton Town FC
HT: 1 - 2
Stockton added yet more points to their tally with an impressive win at golden flatts. Dylan Smith opened the scoring with an unbelievable goal. Receiving the ball to feet on the far right he looked to be going nowhere but an outrageous Ronaldo chop saw him fly through the middle of two defenders before twisting past a third and slotting home in the bottom corner. An incredible goal from the captain, arguably the best of his 21 goals this season. 0-1. Flatts equalised shortly after with a great strike that Harrison could do nothing about 1-1. The blues were on top in this half and there was a goal from new signing Harvey Morris, Harvey never stopped running all game and got his reward on his first start after battling to win the ball from a defender he tucked it home past the keeper to make it 1-2 at half time.
The blues started strong in the second half with several near misses from Lonsdale and Morris and Smith hitting the post from a freekick. Stockton scored their third of the game and it was yet another outstanding goal. Jacob Waldon collecting a loose ball on the left side of the pitch, one touch to control before hitting the ball perfectly, the management team had a great view of this strike and it appeared to curl before cracking the far post and hitting the back of the net for Waldons 4th of the season, what a strike! 1-3. Flatts scored again to make it 2-3 and as the blues tired Flatts took control of the game. Harrison Rodham continues to get better in goal each week and yet again made some awesome saves to keep the blues in the lead, a top top keeper in the making. Lonsdale and Morris continued to support the defence constantly tracking back and making important challenges. The blues then killed off the game, Joel Lonsdale intercepting the keepers pass before finishing well from a tight angle to seal the win 2-4. Lonsdale’s 11th of the season. A great game against a good bunch of lads / coaches.
Man of the match awarded by Flatts Manager was Dylan Smith
The second game ended in a win for Flatts with Stockton goals coming from Isaac Rowland and Joel Lonsdale.
