Under 8 Durham Division 1

Stockton Town FC
HT: 0 - 0
A tough home game against NASA Amber where all previous meetings ended in big Amber wins. It was physical throughout and the blues gained an early free kick just outside the area. Smith stepped up with confidence hitting the ball over the wall into the top corner to give the blues the lead 1-0. The blues demonstrated some great passing play and closed down the ball really well. Scott and Lonsdale worked very hard up front whilst Smith and Waldon covered well at the back. NASA started to press and equalised to make it 1-1 at half time. The second half started tight but NASA were beginning to look stronger, Smith made a couple of big hitting slide tackles and Rodham made some fantastic saves to keep it level. NASA eventually took the lead half way through the half 1-2. Stockton brought on Vout and Dyson who both looked impressive as the blues pushed forward for the equaliser. A NASA counter-attack made it 1-3 and the game looked over. The blues didn’t give up and put heavy pressure on the NASA defence. Smith played in Dyson down the left who cleverly cut back inside beating the defender and firing home a great shot to make it 2-3. Stockton continued to attack as the clock ticked down and with only 10 seconds remaining the blues were awarded a free kick just inside the oppositions half. With the pressure on the captain, Smith placed the ball down before hitting it sweetly with power towards goal, the ball smacked the post and then the back of the net to level the game in dramatic style 3-3 at the whistle.
Man of the Match was Harrison Rodham
The friendly game ended 2-4 to NASA Amber.
Goals from Smith & Rowland
Two great goals. An individual run and cheeky “no look” shot from Smith and a fine team goal involving 4 passes between Scott, Vout, Lonsdale and Rowland. Rowland finishing off a pinpoint cross from Lonsdale.
