Stockton were held for the first time this Season with a 2 2 draw over in Cumbria against Cleator Moor Celtic. Stockton raced into a 2 goal lead with Chris Stockton finding the corner of the net after a fine move and Captain Stav Roberts doubling Stockton’s lead before the interval. Stockton’s first half performance was exceptional and it would of been no surprise if they had scored many more.
At half time nobody could of predicted the events of the second half such was Stockton’s dominance of the game in the first half. Cleator Moor managed to get a goal back after 63 minutes when a mix up in the Stockton defence following a long diagonal ball presented an open goal to the Cleator centre forward. A few minutes later and the home side were level after hardly threatening all game. This spurred Stockton into action and the bombardment of the Cleator that followed for the final 20 minutes saw Stockton hit the post, bar and have two efforts cleared off the line but unable to force a winner. Disappointing to lose a two goal lead but a decent midweek result away to these opponents.
