A lone goal from full back Lewis King his first for the club, in the later stages of the game was enough for the Anchors to collect the win in their Boxing Day derby at home to Thornaby FC.
It wasn’t a classic derby game, Thornaby worked very hard to contain the Anchors but second half the League leaders took control and had several opportunities to open the scoring only to see Dawson deny them.
Fourteen unbeaten now for the League Leaders as the season enters a pivotal time.
