Jack Dobson sat down with Adam Nicholson for the first part of our new series – Ask a Random Question, where Anchors fans sent in their random questions for Adi to answer. Take a look at some of the best ones we put to him and his responses below.
Mackenzie Wright: Who has the best fashion in the squad?
Adam: There’s some bad clobber in our changing room but the best I think has to be Kingy (Lewis King) He’s a cool kid.
Cheryl Todd: Hands for feet or feet for hands?
Adam: Hands for feet. Couldn’t have my trotters on the table every day ha-ha!
John Stoker: Parmo or Kebab?
Adam: Manjaros Parmo. No Debate.
Cam Painter: Who is faster Cam Painter or Ell Beddow?
Adam: Ell Beddow is an absolute whippet. Some say he’s faster than first impression!
Nigel Martin Brooks: Who has the best music taste in the squad?
Adam: A bit of a mixture this one. Tom Portas for singalong songs on the bus, inspired by late night YouTube sessions. Then Tommo for all things house & rave to get the lads going!
Beth Dobson: If you had to eat one form of potato for the rest of your life which would you choose?
Adam: Very good question – Has to be chips, I think. Can’t beat chunky chips, although I am a big crisp fan.
Stephen Allan: Would you rather win a game comfortably or score a last-minute winner?
Adam: You can’t beat the feeling of a last-minute winner but now I’m the wrong side of 30 I’ll go with a comfortable 4-0 win and foot off the gas ha-ha!
Jason Mckay:Â Who is the best striker you have come up against?
Adam: There’s a couple, I think Liam Hughes at Worksop last season was the biggest physical test I’ve had, he’s a beast! We played Guiseley in the FA Cup a few seasons ago and Aaron Martin and Kaine Felix were flying for them at the time, which was difficult to keep up with!
Matthew Powell: One player you have played with past or present to take a penalty to save your life, who are you picking?
Adam: Tough one but the way Nathan Steel and Kev Hayes take pens I’d have to back to them. I’ve never seen Steely miss one so I’ll go with him, so cultured for a big lad.
Lauren B:What’s your Tesco meal deal?
Adam: Very boring. Chicken salad sandwich, salt & vinegar McCoy’s, and a Fanta fruit twist.
Danny Harbottle: Has your golf handicap improved?
Adam: Danny Harbottle – the only man to putt with a pitching wedge!! I’ve not played for a while to be honest, hopefully get out more next year.
John Ian Milne: Does he know about can bag?
Adam: Everybody knows about can bag. About time the players got a can bag after a win.
Louie Hall: Are you going to Manchester or Turkey?
Adam: Manchester although people in glass houses should never throw stones!
Mark Bristow: Do you have a pre match routine/meal?
Adam: Yeah, everyone has their own routine that works for them but I’m a nightmare for superstitions. I went through most of last season having steak for tea every Friday and the same pasta at 12pm on a Saturday. It worked for me so kept it going! If it’s not broke don’t change it!
Finally, the question we all want to know, where have you put your dads’ ladders?
Adam: They were in my garage all along ha-ha-ha!
