UNDER 10 BOYS v UNDER 10&12 GIRLS - 09/02/09
Friendly Match Report
Both girls teams joined up to face Andy Harrison’s U10 boys for a mid-season friendly on a cold, wet Saturday morning in January.
It was the first time for both teams playing 9 a-side and on a large pitch, and it proved a test for the girls as the boys took and early lead going 1-0 up through goal scorer Joe Clark. Some fantastic saves from Kelsie Moore kept the score at 1-0 at the end of the first half.
The boys then came out firing, and 2 more goals from Joe Clark, 3 from Sam Harrison and 1 from Tom Bell, saw the boys go 7-0 up. The girl’s heads didn’t drop however, and Kelsie Moore scored a consolation goal for the girls. The score finished 7-1.
After the 9 a-side friendly match, the boys and girls sides mixed up, and along with managers Andy Harrison and Vicki Hutchinson, made up four 5 a-side teams. The teams then had a mini-tournament where lots of skill and good goals could be seen.
U10 girls managers Kelly Smith and Matthew Carr, U12 girls manager Vicki Hutchinson, and U10 managers Andy Harrison and Steve Marsh were very pleased with their sides. The players from all 3 teams were a credit to Stockton Town Football Club.
