Jordan steps up to keep Anchors on a roll

Stockton had Liam Jordan to thank for this hard fought victory against a slick well drilled Team North as the young keeper made a string of top class saves to keep TN at bay as they pressed for an equaliser in the second half. The game was  a technical affair and not as thrilling as recent matches at Bishopton Rd West but no less entertaining, if only just for the tension in the last half hour as Stockton defended with their lives and Liam Jordan making two superb saves within a minute to deny TN.  OWENS gave the Anchors the lead right on half time and it stayed like that until the last 15 minutes when DIBB FULLER tapped in for an equaliser after a period of pressure. But this didn’t spur the University boys on and it was Stockton who finished the stronger and when Jamie Poole’s driven shot was superbly saved by Holden, CRAGGS reacted quickest and fired the rebound home from a tight angle to take the 3 points for Stockton and extend an excellent run of results which has seen 13 wins in the last 16 games in all competitions.
