Stockton Town took on Sunderland U23s in a Durham Cup 2nd Round tie at Bishopton Road and were soundly beaten 4-1. Two early mistakes gave the Black Cats a 2 goal head start inside 10 minutes which gave them a base to control the game with an impressive show of technical ability, movement and passing indicating just why these guys are professional footballers at one of the North Easts biggest clubs. The Anchors kept plugging away and second half saw a much improved display ending with a late and rare consolation goal for Alan COSSAVELLA it was a disappointing game all round, a big crowd was present but as a competitive spectacle the match was over after 20 minutes. Onwards to a massive 4th Round FA Vase game at home this Saturday to West Auckland.
